I need ways to train small breeds as puppies
Getting rewards to them faster etc
What do you do for training for 5 week old puppies? I cant take him outside as he hasn’t had his shots? How do you do crate/housetraining?
How would you suggest I find an older dog that is trained – I know I can check out local shelters for adoption but because of my age, I believe this will be my last dog and I would like to restrict my search to a few breeds of choice-miniature Schnauzer or Havanese- would you suggest visiting a breeder or wait for the possibility that one might show up at a shelter- I’m 77 and don’t have the time to wait too long- I am also primary caretaker for my husband and would like the companionship and impetus to walk shorter walks with the dog- our rescue dog we had for 8 years died five years ago and we did too much traveling to consider getting another. But now we are more constrained and staying close to home but in nice neighborhood with lots of opportunities to walk and dog parks nearby- I have my health but my husband is disabled but would also like the company of a small, calm dog
